Temporary exhibition - The needles are rattling

23.02. – 16.03.2025
Spinning and weaving used to be part of everyday life in the mountain regions of the Upper Valais. Almost every house had a loom, a bank card and a spinning wheel and spinning was done by hand. Textiles for everyday use were made from local materials (wool and linen). In the meantime (as almost everywhere!) handmade textiles have been replaced by industrially produced ones and so old traditions have been lost...

Our association endeavours to preserve the  "Textile cultural heritage"

This textile technique has a long tradition worldwide and is becoming more and more popular even today. We present the creative diversity of knitting and will really get the needles rattling at the planned accompanying events (courses and workshops).
