Here you will get to know the communities that make up the destination of Goms and learn some facts about them.

 

Municipality of Obergoms

In the middle of nature on a wide valley plain where the Rhone rises and the Furka, Grimsel and Nufenen passes meet - this is where the municipality of Obergoms is located today. The municipality of Obergoms has existed since 1 January 2009 and was formed by the merger of the municipalities of Oberwald, Obergesteln and Ulrichen. The municipality has 660 inhabitants and covers an area of over 155 square kilometres.

Municipality of Goms

The municipality of Goms has existed since 1 January 2017 and consists of the villages of Münster, Geschinen, Reckingen, Gluringen, Grafschaft (Selkingen, Biel, Ritzingen), Blitzingen and Niederwald. The municipality has about 1,200 inhabitants and covers an area of over 129 square kilometres.
