At the foot of the Nufenen Pass
The name Ulrichen comes from an Alemannic clan elder. With the Nufenen and Griespass, Ulrichen is the gateway to the south. Could it have been the inspiration for the local pasta production? In the past, it was the muleteers and traders who shaped the mountain village. Today it is travelers who want to drive and climb the beautiful Goms passes in all variations. For a long time Ulrichen was almost "besieged" by the Swiss army with all its advantages and disadvantages. Today, the former army area offers possibilities that are far from being exhausted. For example, the Nordic Center has been created, where cross-country races of almost every category take place.
