Bridge

"Bodmer" suspension bridge

How do you think the muleteers with their heavily loaded mules managed the way over the Aegina in those days? Today, hikers on their way from Ulrichen to Ladstafel, Nufenen or Griespass will find the small but fine suspension bridge embedded in the wild and romantic nature of the Aegina valley for an easy crossing of the river. From here, the valley widens and opens up the view into the impressive valley basin, which is crowned by the huge wind turbines of the highest wind farm in Europe.

The suspension bridge was built in 2000. It has a length of 37 meters and is suspended from two 46-meter-long steel cables anchored in the rock on both sides. The bridge is named after the benefactor "Verena Bodmer", who helped finance the suspension bridge through a generous donation.
