Reservation system

feratel Deskline

New: Translations in the web client are now activated. You can now make translations yourself.

Deskline is our reservation system. It offers many interfaces to online portals and booking websites. This gives the guest the opportunity to book their holiday online without having to wait for occupancy information, etc. The advantage of a central ‘collection point’ for all relevant data is a reduction in the amount of incorrect information and an increase in the quality of the data. For the landlord or hotelier, this results in great advantages when distributing his offers in the large ‘Internet’ market.

The new guest behaviour requires a rethink in the service chain. Spontaneous and short-term bookings, shorter stays and new technologies require the provision of a flexible and professional reservation system. The Upper Valais has decided on the Deskline system from Brig to Oberwald. The point of contact for all service providers in Obergoms (Oberwald to Niederwald) is Obergoms Tourismus AG.

The system is user-friendly and providers of overnight accommodation do not incur any costs in the form of a commission from Obergoms Tourismus AG when a booking is successfully completed online. From 1 November 2019, an annual fee will be charged for processing and support in the reservation system:

  • Holiday apartments ‘bookable online’ (incl. MeldeClient) à CHF 100.00
  • Holiday apartments ‘on request’ (incl. MeldeClient) à CHF 180.00
  • Hotel ‘online bookable’ (incl. MeldeClient) à CHF 50.00
  • Hotel ‘on request’ (incl. MeldeClient) à CHF 90.00

However, the tourism organisations depend on the active support and cooperation of the hoteliers and holiday apartment landlords. Only regularly updated quotas and prices as well as bookable objects in Deskline enable our guests to make direct bookings. Today it is a fact that the guest usually only searches for accommodation online and if beds are not available, immediately visits the website of another destination. Our employees at Obergoms Tourismus AG are happy to help all hoteliers and holiday apartment landlords with questions about the Deskline reservation system.

Overnight stay statistics and guest control

Recording guest and/or overnight stay data

According to the visitor's tax regulations of the municipalities of Obergoms and Goms, all holiday home owners are obliged to report the overnight stays generated in their holiday home or Maiensäss for statistical purposes.

  • Article 12. Visitor's tax regulations:

The holiday apartments and Maiensässe shall report the number of overnight stays in the respective apartment during the period in question to the tax collection agency by 10 May and 10 November using a form provided by the agency.

Guest registration is based on the cantonal regulations on visitor's tax and the law on accommodation. Landlords who rent out accommodation for tourist purposes, for a fee and without hotel-style services, are obliged to provide us with the following data about their guests via the MeldeClient: surname, first name, date of birth, address, nationality, type and number of identification document, dates of stay at the accommodation.

All holiday apartments that are connected to our reservation system (feratel/Deskline) on our website www.goms.ch can register their guests directly via the WebClient. All other landlords will receive external access to the registration client.

What deadlines apply?

We will use the current first semester from 1 November 2024 to 30 April 2025 as a test phase for you and us. The overnight stays will not be checked yet.

We will check the reporting period from 1 May 2025 to 31 October 2025. The overnight stays must be entered there by 10 November 2025. Missing reports will be followed up and may also be fined. We will remind you to enter the data before the deadlines expire. In addition, we are always available to answer your questions or provide support.

Tips & Tricks

Digital Marketplace

The digital marketplace Valais at wallis.ch/shop is another sales channel for service providers in Goms. On this platform, guests can plan and book their stay from A to Z directly online. The aim of the shop is to unite the various economic players in Valais and thus create added value for the canton.

You can also benefit from it. In order for your hotel, holiday apartment or other offers to be displayed in this shop, you must sign the contract with Matterhorn Region AG (see below). Prerequisite: The product or service must be activated and bookable online in the Feratel booking system. MRAG charges a sales commission of 10%, the remaining 90% goes directly to the service provider. You can send the signed contract to Matterhorn Region AG: product@matterhornregion.ch

Further templates for landlords and owners can be found here.

Classification of your holiday home

The classification with one to five stars makes your holiday apartment assessable for our guests. They can compare the numerous accommodations regarding their facilities.

Here you can see the advantages of the stars.

Would you like to have your accommodation classified? Then send us an e-mail and we will send you the survey form.

The classification costs CHF 65.00 per holiday apartment, valid for four years. The Swiss Tourism Federation will then issue you with the certificate.
